Cute Things Your Cat Will Do This Month

December 1, 2023
The holidays are a wonderful time of year: we not only get to enjoy some quality time with friends and family, we also get to enjoy seasonal events and festivities. As it turns out, our feline pals also have some annual traditions they like to take part in. An Ellicott City, MD vet lists some of them below. Attack The Tree Our feline buddies are more or less hardwired to want to scale trees. After all, kitties use them as lookout points, manicure stations, and shelter in the wild. Add some shiny ornaments, and that tree becomes irresistible. (Tip: decorating the bottom half of the tree sparsely may make it less appealing.) Claim Empty Boxes Fluffy’s box obsession will never stop being adorable. Your kitty will definitely notice all those extra boxes lying around. She may even try to claim some of the empty ones after everyone has opened their gifts. (Tip: having the kids create a box castle can be a great way to keep them occupied during their vacation.) Refuse To Pose For Pictures Cats may be small, but they have huge purrsonalities. One of Fluffy’s cuter but more frustrating quirks is her habit of looking absolutely adorable, and then moving as soon as you get your camera. Just be patient: sooner or later, you’ll get that adorable shot. (Tip: if you’re trying to snap your kitty’s picture in front of the tree, try blurring the background.) Lend A Helping Paw Most cats spend their time lounging about and looking adorable. Fluffy may be a bit of a brat at times, but she really does appreciate all the love, care, and attention you offer. She may try to repay you by helping with seasonal chores. What does this look like? Your furball may ‘assist’ as you wrap gifts or decorate the tree. She may also thoughtfully knock down ornaments you don’t like, or leave extra fur on your furniture for guests. Be Adorable   No matter what time of year it is, Fluffy will charm you with her furry face, adorable meows, and silly antics. Carve out some quality quiet time with your kitty. Playing with Fluffy beside the tree, or enjoying a holiday movie with your pet curled up in your lap are great ways to take a breather and just relax amidst all of that holiday hustle and bustle. No holiday scene is complete without a purring cat!  Happy Holidays! Contact us, your Ellicott City, MD pet hospital, anytime.
